The 2016 National Replant Gathering, a first-of-its-kind event, launched on Saturday evening June 11, with a first-session crowd over three times its organizers original goal of 50. The Groves Church, a replanted church, hosted the first session of the gathering in its worship center. 150 attended the session. The North American Mission Board reported that 185 registered for the gathering, which continues on June 12 at America's Center, St. Louis' convention center and site of the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.
