Scripture: Amos 9:2-4

Key Ideas

All people will face judgement. And, every person without salvation will also face God’s wrath.

God’s judgement and wrath are not limited to earthly circumstances, difficulties, fears, and such. He acts beyond the earth, in the heavens and in eternity.

Neither eternal life in heaven nor death in hell delivers a person from God’s final judgement. And, those without salvation will face His wrath, too.

No earthly location can conceal a person from God, His judgement and His wrath. Every place that seems safe from a human perspective is vulnerable from a divine perspective. No one can hide from God. He finds everyone.

No circumstance excuses a person from God’s final judgement. A person already experiencing consequences of sin on earth will still face final judgement. And, if not saved, such people will also face His eternal wrath after experiencing earthly distress.

Application

Why do I feel confident that I will not face both God’s judgement and His wrath?

How should the reality and certainty of God’s judgement and wrath affect the way I conduct my life?

How might the reality and certainty of God’s judgement and wrath affect the way I interact with others about spiritual issues?

The Takeaway

Without salvation, God’s wrath is inescapable.
