Del Risco Assists Evangelistic Planning

Josué (Joshua) Del Risco, guest trainer for the three-location 2019 Regional Hispanic Evangelism Training Event, trained more than 80 people from 13 Hispanic churches at the mid-March meetings. The trainings provided advance preparation for the 2019 Hispanic Simultaneous Revivals campaign.

ALBUQUERQUE (BNM) – Churches demonstrated, with attendance, their interest in the 2019 Regional Hispanic Evangelism Training Event held in Albuquerque, Portales and Las Cruces on March 15-17. Ricardo Rivera, the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s Hispanic ministry strategist, provided posters for the churches and sent emails and texts reminders, along with posts on Facebook to encourage the churches to participate.

Over 80 people, from 13 Hispanic churches, attended three training events on Friday, March 15 at Del Norte Baptist Church, Albuquerque; Iglesia Bautista El Divino Salvador, Portales, on Saturday, March 16; and Iglesia Bautista Unidos En Cristo, Las Cruces, on Sunday, March 17. Each training session lasted for three hours.

The training session aimed to help churches develop evangelism events for the upcoming Simultaneous Revivals. The revivals were mostly scheduled for the week of April 14-21, with some taking place later. Each church planned their own evangelistic event as part of the evangelistic revival campaign.

Josué (Joshua) Del Risco, an evangelist with “Of the Rock Ministries,” based in Columbus, Mississippi, led the conferences. He spoke on the benefits, the obstacles and the steps for planning a successful evangelistic event, along with practical suggestions for conducting a successful event. Del Risco spoke bilingually on Friday night in Albuquerque and spoke Spanish only in Portales and Las Cruces.

Del Risco previously visited New Mexico as a guest speaker for the 2018 New Mexico Evangelism Conference. Recordings from his sessions at the NMEC are available for streaming or download at
