The purpose of the meetings is to support and encourage the pastors and their wives.

Ricardo Rivera, the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s People Groups Team leader and Mario Navarro, its southern region Hispanic Strategist, coordinate the quarterly meetings.

This year’s meetings began on March 4 at the BCNM office building in Albuquerque for Central Baptist Association’s pastors and wives. Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant, Portales, served as the location for the March 7 meeting on the state’s east side. On March 11, pastors and wives gathered at Iglesia Bautista Betesda, Hobbs. Participants at that meeting traveled from Lovington, Hobbs, Artesia and Roswell. Finally, pastors and wives from the Southern part of New Mexico met at Primera Iglesia Bautista, Las Cruces, on March 18.

For each quarterly meeting, the BCNM People Groups Team provides a meal for attendees. At each meeting, someone shares a devotional. Rivera and Navarro share upcoming events and training information with the group. Pastors and wives receive books and gifts in appreciation of their work.

Before the meeting ends, Rivera and Navarro update them on the progress of developing a fellowship of Hispanic pastors. For more information on the Hispanic pastor’s fellowship, contact Rivera at rrivera@bcnm.com or (505) 924-2337.
