Colt Wetterman

ESTANCIA (BNM) – First Baptist Church, Estancia, called Colt Wetterman to serve as the church’s student pastor. Wetterman was born in Apple Valley, California. His family moved to New Mexico when he was nine years old. They family purchased a ranch between Willard and Encino, where he grew up.

Wetterman gave his life to Christ and received believer’s baptism at the age of six. Throughout his teen years, he worked on both his parent’s ranch and a ranch in Magdalena. He spent summers attending and working at a Christian Youth Horsemanship camp in Ferron, Utah.

After being homeschooled for the majority of his high school career, Wetterman graduated and completed the Ranch and Feed Lot Operations program at Clarendon College, Clarendon, Texas. Wetterman also earned an Associate Degree in agriculture from Eastern New Mexico University, Roswell. 

While living in Roswell, he was a member of First Baptist Church and actively served in the youth ministry, teaching the 8th-9th grade boys. During his time in Roswell, he trained in Four Fields Discipleship and Three Circles Evangelism. He said he enjoys teaching the Bible and working with discipleship of the youth and their families. Reaching all areas and all the residents of Estancia with the Gospel is his goal.

Wetterman and his wife, Becca, live on his parent’s ranch with their three daughters Paizley, Roanie and Piper. The couple is passionate about the ranch lifestyle, ranch rodeo, starting colts, raising cows and racehorses and spending time with family and friends.
