ALBUQUERQUE (BNM) – Sandia Baptist Church, Albuquerque, called Aaron Ricks to be its minister to families. He started Jan. 1.

Ricks is a recent graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities and biblical studies. Ricks is now pursuing a Master of Divinity degree through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri.

First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Mississippi, where Ricks’ father serves as pastor, licensed Ricks to preach on Dec. 30, 2018. Sandia ordained him to the Gospel ministry on Jan. 12, 2020.

Ricks served as the pastor to 5th and 6th-grade students and their families at Hunters Glen Baptist Church, Plano, Texas, from 2017-2019.

Ricks has traveled internationally on mission trips to the Dominican Republic, India and Peru. He grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, area.

Ricks is married to Abigail, who is a student at Southwestern, where she will receive a Bachelor of Arts in humanities and biblical studies in May 2020.

Abigail is also a published author, having contributed to two women's Bible study volumes.
