Steven Ball

First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, called Steven Ball as its new pastor. He began that role on Jan. 1.

ALBUQUERQUE (BNM) - First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, has called Steven Ball as its new senior pastor. He began January 1.

Ball and his family moved to Albuquerque from Las Vegas, Nevada, where he served as the lead pastor at Spring Valley Baptist Church since 2014. He has also served as senior pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Childress, Texas, and senior pastor for Calvary Baptist Church, Irving, Texas.

During his pastorates, Ball saw numerical growth in the churches he led, according to his resume. It also mentioned that increased Great Commission giving, substantially reduced debt, encouraging church plants, and establishing discipleship-training programs mark his ministry. He was also a public speaker, having spoken for various events and meetings and receiving awards for his speaking ability.

Ball attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro in 1997-2003, receiving Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science degree in engineering science. He then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, where he received a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Ball was licensed to the Gospel ministry at First Baptist Church, Socorro, and ordained at Highland Baptist Church, Roswell.

Ball and his wife, Aghavni, have five children: Donald, 18; Shadrach, 13; Marcus, 10; Carl, 9: and Alexander, 4.
